Long periods of inactivity, combined with the cramped conditions and dehydration which can occur on long journeys, can cause a number of circulatory problems including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) – blood clots.

  • Personal/Family history of blood clots
  • Aged above 40
  • Pregnant
  • Female Hormone medications (contraceptive pill/HRT)
  • Height over 6 feet or under 5 feet
  • Obesity
  • Former or current malignant disease
  • Varicose veins
  • Heart Disease
  • Recent surgery or injury, especially to lower limbs/abdomen
  • Inherited blood clotting defect
  • Immobilisation for long periods

Directions:

Should be worn in place of normal socks throughout the flight. Always wear both socks & ensure that they are pulled up to just below the knee. Can be worn at any time to improve leg comfort. Machine wash at 40 degrees. Do not iron.
