How Mefix works:

The porous structure of the Sontara® nonwoven fabricensures air and water vapour permeability. The fabric is stretchable, conforms well to body contours and allows body movements when in place. The fabric is nonabsorbent and provides a barrier for blood and fluid strikethrough.

The polyacrylate adhesive has been designed to be gentle to the skin but at the same time provide secure
fixation.

The easy-to-remove protection paper is premeasured in 10 cm intervals, and has a perforated split for easy removal and application. Mefix can easily be cut to the desired shape and size.

Areas of use

Mefix can be used in a wide variety of situations where
fixation is required including fixation of dressings, swabs,
catheters and cannulae. It is ideal for fixation in areas
such as the neck, elbows and knee.

How to use Mefix

Fixation using the S-curve

Cut to appropriate size.

The two parts of the protection paper are separated.
The narrow part is removed.

The part with exposed adhesive is applied to the skin. Remaining protection paper is removed. Firmly smooth Mefix to obtain proper adhesion.

Precautions

Care should be taken to ensure that Mefix is not applied
under tension, to prevent shearing forces causing damage to the skin. This is particularly important when applied over joints.
