QuikClot is an adsorbent haemostatic agent that has the power to effectively stop blood loss at an injury and immediately establish a clot. It is used externally as a temporary traumatic wound treatment to stop moderate to severe bleeding by promoting rapid coagulation of blood. It is then able to withstand high pressure and intravenous whole blood transfusion, plasma or saline administration.
Each application of QuikClot is individually vacuum packed and is easy to open in an emergency and requires only very basic training in its administration.
